I cannot believe that we are at the end of this year already! Where did the time go? It went super fast and now here we are planning our 2018 goals! I am super excited about mine and where I am headed with my riding but that is for another time. This post is a reflection on some of my favorite memories from this year and where I went with my riding.
This year I decided to go into full-time training for my horse and myself because, let’s face it, we needed it. I have always been a decent rider but there was so much I didn’t know and that I could learn from working with a trainer one-on-one five days a week. I’m not only working to better myself, but also working to better my horse to get us both into top shape. We are going to be taking on the winter circuit next year so I want to make sure we on top of our game. Being in full-time training is the best decision I ever made and I am happy I made this commitment.
This show season was so much fun and learned to relax and just ride my horse at competitions. I learned if I can relax and enjoy myself I tend to do so much better than when I am anxious and have my competitive streak going. With this being said we had some amazing rides and were able to hold steady scores all season. At the end of it all, we ended up 3rd place in our division. I am proud of that accomplishment due to the end score, which was raised higher than last year. One other thing I enjoyed about this show season was being able to show on a college campus and doing extremely well. I cannot wait to see what next year brings!!
One of the things I love about being an equestrian is being able to represent a lot of different companies by having and wearing their gear. This year I got to join three different companies: Horseplay Apparel, The Braided Mane and Equiccessories. Each company has some fun things to offer on their clothing and accessories lines. Also if you are following their ambassadors, such as myself, you will find you can have some savings with discount codes that offered.
This year was one that was filled with fun and a lot of hard work but in the end, it paid off. It’s sad that it’s coming to an end but that just means we have another exciting year to look forward to. I am excited for what is to come and what we will be accomplishing next.
