Storage Almost Full
Getting a notice that your storage is almost full is very annoying. This pop-up is even more irritating when it decides to show up while you are trying to take a once in a lifetime or somewhat important video or picture. Picture Keeper Connect can help you kick that pop up out the door and make sure it doesn’t come back.
The Picture Keeper is a device that allows you to transfer pictures and videos from your phone/tablet to any other device. While the phone/tablet plugin is designed for Apple products, they do provide an Android adapter. The unit is the size of a standard USB with a phone/tablet adapter on one side and a USB on the other.
Installing the software on your phone, tablet, or computer is easy. Simply download the app onto your phone or tablet and set up an account. Click start backup and wait for it to complete the save. For your computer, start by plugging in the USB side into the USB port. A pop-up window should show up just like any normal USB on your computer would. Choose the “Open folder to view files” and the double click on “LaunchPictureKeeper”. This should take you to the Picture Keeper homepage where you will hit “Start Backup”. This will copy the pictures and videos from your drive onto the Picture Keeper’s storage.
If you find that some of your pictures or videos didn’t get transferred, check your backup settings. Because, you have to tell the drive to check the cloud and what to save. Saving pictures from the cloud take much longer than saving them straight from your phone or tablet. It also drains your battery pretty quickly, so I recommend not using your phone during the backup. If you have to take the Picture Keeper out during the backup, the pictures already saved will still be on the drive. Once you plug the Picture Keeper in again, it will look for pictures that it hasn’t saved yet so it doesn’t save the same picture over and over again.
The Picture Keeper will save pictures, videos, and contacts from wherever it’s plugged into and told to back up. If you want to save pictures from the drive onto your computer, start by clicking “Restore” under the “Start Backup” button. Once the restore is done, click done and a popup should appear and ask you if you want to view the pictures now. Two folders will show up. Don’t worry about these. Go to your pictures and find a folder called “Backups”. This will stay on your computer so you don’t have to worry about saving anything.
You can use the Picture Keeper to move things from your computer to your phone or tablet. The only drawback to doing this is that it will download everything off of the drive.
Each Picture Keeper drive has a ton of storage so you won’t have to worry about filling it up quickly. If you do manage to fill one, you have to purchase a new drive.
