Featured Rider: Kristina Donaldson

Name and barn you are currently riding at. (Please include area your barn is located in)

My name is Kristy Donaldson and I ride at Cardinal Hill Farm in Eaton, OH.

Tell a little bit about you and your horse.

My horse is a paint named Skid (aka Spartan as called at home) who came to me on a lease. I was on the market looking for someone who would challenge my riding ability and who could teach me the art of dressage as well as jumping. This particular horse is fulfilling those needs along with many others. He has become a lifelong friend and someone I can rely on with his sweet but quirky disposition.

What are your goals as an equestrian? (Can be short term, long term, or both)

My goals as an equestrian now are to become the best rider I can be through the different disciplines and challenges of riding while making new self-discoveries.Future Goals: make it to Kentucky Rolex and eventually the

Future Goals: make it to Kentucky Rolex and eventually the Olympics. Also, I would like to run my own equestrian center to teach others the art of horsemanship.

How are you working towards those goals?

Taking things one day at a time and just enjoying the ride/journey.

Who is your riding role model?

Anky Van Grusven. She is a Dutch Olympic Dressage Rider and has competed in the 1988, 1992, 1996,  2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012 Olympics. Anky won medals at all but her first Olympics. In 1996, she competed while pregnant with her first child!

Biggest success or fail?

My biggest success has been finding my lifetime partner and training to be the best I can be.

I have been super excited to watch these two form a bond over the past 9 months! Skid aka Spartan was my first horse and I love seeing what he has been able to do with his new rider. I am also loving Kristy as a guest blogger on the blog! Best of luck to you and Spartan.
