Don’t let the title fool you. Electronics for Kids isn’t just for children. Whether you are young or young at heart and want to learn more about what powers our world, this book is perfect for you.
Electronics for Kids is by Øyvind Nydal Dahl. He has plenty of experience with electronics and even made his first circuit at the age of 14. Dahl has a Master’s degree from the University of Oslo and has cofounded a sensor development company named Intelligent Agent. He has now set started on the new project of educating the next generation. Though Dahl is very experienced with the area of electronics, he has found a way to explain the complex concepts in an easy way for everyone to understand.
This book starts with an introduction that includes topics, helpful supplies, and some tips and tricks. After the introduction, there are 10 fun sections that are divided into 3 parts. These sections range from batteries to magnetic energy to thinking circuits. In each section, you will learn how something works or a certain skill and then use that knowledge in a couple projects. The book starts with simple concepts and then gradually gets harder and more complex.
The projects are easy yet very useful. Each one is explained carefully and thoroughly. There are also a ton of pictures. This way you know exactly what you are using for each step to avoid unnecessary mistakes. Diagrams are also not hard to find in each section. They are easy to read and takes the whole book to a new level.
Electronics for Kids is a great book for anyone who has ever wondered how and why things work. The explanations and projects are written so that they are easy to read and understand. No matter your age or experience level, I would highly recommend this book!
